Senior Network Engineer

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Network Engineer to join our technology team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, administration, optimization, and support of enterprise network infrastructure across on-premises, data center, and cloud environments. This role serves as a technical subject matter expert in network operations, ensuring the availability, security, performance, scalability, and resilience of business-critical network services.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise across routing and switching, network security, firewalls, load balancing, wireless technologies, WAN connectivity, telecommunications circuits, and infrastructure services. Working closely with infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud, application, and vendor teams, the Senior Network Engineer will play a key role in maintaining operational excellence, supporting technology transformation initiatives, and driving continuous service improvement aligned with industry best practices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Design, implement, administer, and maintain enterprise LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, and data center network infrastructure.

2. Manage and support routing and switching environments utilizing protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, and related technologies.

3. Ensure high availability, performance, scalability, and resilience of network services through proactive monitoring, optimization, and capacity planning.

4. Administer and support enterprise firewall platforms, VPN solutions, IPS/IDS technologies, network segmentation controls, and security policies.

5. Manage internet connectivity, MPLS networks, leased lines, dedicated circuits, carrier services, and telecommunications vendor relationships.

6. Configure and maintain network services including DNS, DHCP, NTP, IP Address Management (IPAM) and related infrastructure services.

7. Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot wireless network infrastructure, including wireless controllers, access points, and secure wireless access solutions.

8. Administer and support load balancing and application delivery platforms to ensure application availability and performance.

9. Perform network troubleshooting, root cause analysis, incident response, and problem management for complex infrastructure issues.

10. Develop and maintain network architecture diagrams, technical documentation, operational procedures, and standards.

11. Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to implement network hardening, vulnerability remediation, and security best practices.

12. Participate in infrastructure upgrades, migrations, technology refresh programs, disaster recovery exercises, and business continuity initiatives.

13. Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to junior engineers and operations teams.

14. Support hybrid cloud networking environments, including connectivity between on-premises infrastructure and cloud platforms such as AWS.

WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO BE SUCCESSFUL

Qualifications

· Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Network Engineering, or a related discipline.

· Strong understanding of networking principles, enterprise security architecture, and infrastructure operations best practices.

· Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM), change management, incident management, and problem management processes.

· Professional certifications such as CCNP Enterprise, CCIE, Palo Alto PCNSE, Check Point CCSA/CCSE, Fortinet NSE, AWS Certified Advanced Networking, ITIL, or equivalent certifications are highly desirable.

· Knowledge of network security frameworks, regulatory compliance requirements, and industry standards is advantageous.

Work Experience

· Minimum 5–8 years of hands-on experience in enterprise network engineering, administration, and operational support.

· Proven experience managing medium to large-scale enterprise network environments within data center, campus, and branch office infrastructures.

· Experience supporting mission-critical production environments with high availability and stringent service level requirements.

· Demonstrated experience with enterprise firewall administration, secure remote connectivity, and network security operations.

· Experience managing telecommunications circuits, internet services, leased lines, MPLS networks, and vendor engagements.

· Exposure to cloud networking concepts and hybrid infrastructure connectivity, particularly within AWS environments, is preferred.

· Experience supporting infrastructure audits, compliance reviews, risk assessments, and governance requirements is advantageous.

Skills & Competencies

· Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, IPv4, IPv6, routing, switching, VLANs, VRFs, MPLS, SD-WAN, QoS, and network segmentation.

· Hands-on experience with enterprise networking platforms including Cisco Catalyst, Nexus, ISR, ASR, Meraki, Juniper, Aruba, HPE Networking, and Huawei solutions.

· Strong administration experience with security platforms including Palo Alto Networks, Check Point, Fortinet, Cisco Firepower, and equivalent next-generation firewall technologies.

· Experience with load balancing and application delivery platforms such as F5 BIG-IP, Citrix ADC (NetScaler), and related technologies.

· Knowledge of wireless networking technologies, wireless controllers, access points, RF optimization, and enterprise wireless security.

· Familiarity with Windows Server, Linux operating systems, Active Directory integration, virtualization platforms, and supporting infrastructure technologies.

· Working knowledge of AWS networking services including VPCs, subnets, route tables, security groups, network ACLs, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, VPN, and Route 53.

· Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to diagnose complex network issues.

· Excellent communication, stakeholder management, documentation, and vendor management skills.

· Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and operate effectively within a fast-paced enterprise environment.
